Ok, ok, it took me a few weeks to get this birthday party blogged.... May is one of the craziest months of the year. So, I left my house a mess & laundry everywhere to visit the cyber world to blog about my daughter's 3rd birthday party (& I'm pretty sure that is a run on sentence, but it gets the point across). So, here we go!
I am normally completely prepared & done a week before the party but for some reason I wasn't able to get into the party planning mode this year. I had been purchasing things here & there for the party when things went on sale or when I saw cute things at dollar tree. To get myself motivated I set up a table, about a week before the party, on a card table in my garage. It actually worked really well because every time I went by the garage I thought about what I needed to do next for the party.
A really cute idea I came up with (well I probably didn't invent but it was new to me) was the way I wrapped the silverware. I had bought ribbon to do the traditional curly ribbon around the silverware but when I started I wasn't liking the look of it. So, I had found a stamp set of Tinkerbell at dollar tree & didn't really know what I was going to do with it. I decided to stamp it onto white scrap booking paper & cut into strips to glue around the wrapped silverware. It turned out sooooo cute!! I will definitely be doing this from now on! Loved the way it turned out!
Another easy (fairly inexpensive) addition to the party was buying printables from an etsy shop. You purchase the printable that you like & they seller sends you the images so you can get them printed at a printer like Kinkos or print them at your house. I printed them at home & only used a fraction of what was included. I used http://www.etsy.com/listing/69552821/fairy-garden-printable-party-decor.
Super cute & it matched perfectly. My only complaint with this was the color printed differently then it looked on the screen but other than that it was a cute addition.
I also found some really cute crystal stickers in the dollar bin at Micheal's. They worked out perfectly for adding a little special touch.
My best friend, her mother in law, & I sewed these super cute Peter Pan hats. They were really simple & turned out super cute! They went perfectly with the glow in the dark swords I purchased at Dollar Tree. I also made some simple flower headbands for the little fairies & purchased glow in the dark wands from Dollar Tree as well. Those were the biggest hit!
Here are a few more pictures of everything else! I scored some AMAZING deals! I purchase almost everything through Dollar Tree & Micheal's dollar bins. Hope you enjoy & that I inspire you to be creative with what you have!
Birthday Fairy
Yay! It was such a fun day & wasn't too stressful! Now, off to work on more headbands......
Until Next Time--
Sincerely,
